The Roper Mountain Science Center is a wonderful place to visit and to find all kinds of things butterflies need. In these beautiful gardens, monarchs and other butterflies can find host plants, nectar, water and shelter along their way. These gardens were photographed in summer by Charles O'Connor, and tended by many loving hands, including those of garden curator Helen Ellis. Look for Mrs. Ellis in the helping hands photograph and peeking through the corn. Learn more about Roper Mountain Science Center and other great outdoor experiences at Places to Go.
